Château de la Ruche is a magical 18th century petit château set in 15 acres of secluded, private parkland and woodland near Le Mans in the Pays de la Loire region of France. Surrounded by peaceful French countryside, the château is being lovingly and carefully restored by the Jones family to create a welcoming, luxurious chambres d’hotes.
We love to make our guests feel spoilt but stuffy formality isn’t our style – so expect luxurious with a down-to-earth edge. Stay in one of our three beautiful château bedrooms, which have each been carefully renovated to preserve as many of the original features as possible.
Every room has a stunning antique bed, made with crisp cotton sheets and luxurious wool duvets to keep you comfortably cool on balmy summer nights and cosy and warm on the chillier ones.
After a wonderful night’s sleep, we’ll set you up for the day with an indulgent breakfast of pastries, the freshest bread, homemade preserves and home-grown produce.
Or you could spend a week in our spacious, self-catering, farmhouse holiday cottage Maurice's House, with its own garden tucked away in the château grounds.
However you choose to come and stay, we hope you'll settle in, switch off and stay awhile in our quiet corner of France and take some time of soak up the peace of our petit château, flower meadows and woodland.
